Easwaramma Day Celebrations marked with Heartwarming Speeches and Cultural Programmes

Easwaramma Day holds a special significance in the calendar of Sri Sathya Sai Vaatsalyam, where vibrant celebrations are held with heartfelt gratitude and reverence for Mother Easwaramma, who blessed the world with the divine presence of our beloved Sai Ma. Sri Sathya Sai Vaatsalyam, named after the essence of a mother’s selfless love, is a noble endeavour dedicated to spreading that boundless love to the deserving communities of India’s villages.

This year too the celebration of Easwaramma Day at Sri Sathya Sai Vaatsalyam was a joyous occasion, brimming with reverence and euphoria. The event was a harmonious blend of captivating speeches, energetic dances, and soul-stirring bhajans performed by the children from the Uyyamballi village, complemented by the melodious songs of the Geetha Sudha ensemble.

The programme commenced in the evening with a speech by sister Jahnavi Jagadish, an alumna of Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, Anantapur Campus. Sister Jahnavi spoke on who a mother truly is and why she is celebrated.

The children’s programmes followed next, and was interspersed with short speeches and programme introductions by the children. With dedicated practice over the last few months, the children spoke fluently in Kannada and English and enraptured everybody through their heartfelt words.

Dance students from the ‘Nritya Maadhuryam’ initiative of the Sri Sathya Sai Premaarpitham Foundation captivated all present with their first-ever stage performance with a devotional Bharatanatyam dance on ‘Mooshika Vaahana’ and other shlokas, exemplifying their learnings in class over the past eight months.

It was followed by a talk by sister Ananya Bhat, who spoke about Mother Easwaramma’s selfless wishes and highlighted Bhagawan’s boundless love, which equals the love of a thousand mothers.

The young boys from the village of Uyyamballi took the audience by joyous surprise with their spirited dance offering on the song ‘Dandaalayya Dandaalayya Koti Dandaalu’.

The second dance by the girl students to the song ‘Teliyaga Tarama Narulu Kanugona Vashama’ was a loving and sweet performance dedicated to Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. The spirited dance left everyone clapping to the beats.

The programme also included cherished songs offered to Mother Easwaramma and Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, such as ‘Enta Goppa Intivamma, ‘Bhagawan Bhagawan’ and ‘Manishini Madhavuni Cheya’ by the Geetha Sudha music group.

The celebrations culminated with energetic bhajans sung by the young children from Uyyamballi village, filling the atmosphere with divine vibrations.

The children were later felicitated for their hard work and dedication in preparing for the programme, amidst a huge applause by everyone gathered.

The evening saw all present reminded of the values that Mother Easwaramma embodied and encouraged, nurturing a sense of unity and spirituality. The celebration of Easwaramma Day concluded with Mangala Aarti and prasadam.
