Festivity Blooms with Deepavali Celebration at Sri Sathya Sai Vaatsalyam

Deepavali, the festival of lights, was celebrated with great joy and devotion at Sri Sathya Sai Vaatsalyam, filling the day with bhakti and togetherness. The campus came alive with vibrant decorations, soulful bhajans, and a sacred Lakshmi Puja, creating an atmosphere of purity and festivity.

A Day of Celebration

The morning began with a sacred abhishekam to Sri Sarvantaraatmeshwara Swami, followed by a beautiful alankaram, setting the tone for a day steeped in devotion. The divine vibrations continued with bhajans in the Sadashivam Hall, where everyone joined in heartfelt singing.

The morning also marked the celebration of Avatar Declaration Day, commemorating the sacred day eighty-five years ago when Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba revealed His Avatarhood and laid down the fourfold mission of His life — Veda Samrakshana (protecting the Vedas), Dharma Sthapana (establishing righteousness), Vidwat Poshana (fostering Vedic scholars), and Bhakta Rakshana (protecting devotees). It served as a reminder of His divine mission—to awaken the inherent divinity within every human being—and inspired everyone to rededicate themselves to living His message in love, in truth, and in service. The session concluded with Mangala Aarthi and Maha Prasadam, leaving hearts full and spirits uplifted.

Divine Jagathjanani Devi Puja and Firecracker Festivities

As dusk approached, the celebrations took a devotional turn with the Sri Suktam and Ashtottara Shatanama Pushpaarchana Puja offered to Sri Jagathjanani Devi, along with a Shodashopachara Puja performed with great reverence. The air was filled with chants and floral fragrance, invoking the divine presence of the Universal Mother.

Following the puja, the ambience transformed into one of excitement and joy as children, volunteers, and devotees gathered to light crackers. The Gnyana Dayini children, staff, security personnel, and devotees joined in, making it an evening of togetherness, celebrations, colour, and light.

lluminating the Inner Lamp

But beyond the spectacle, the celebration became an inner reflection, reminding everyone that the true Deepavali is the lighting of the lamp within—the flame of love and wisdom that dispels ignorance and radiates peace, illuminating not just one’s heart but the hearts of all around.

As the night sky embraced the twinkling stars, the courtyard of Vaatsalyam shimmered with fireworks, laughter, and light. Under the guidance of volunteers, children lit sparklers, flowerpots, and rockets that painted the sky in dazzling hues—each burst echoing joy, unity, and devotion.
