From the auspicious Sri Sathya Narayana Vratham to offerings by the Dayini beneficiaries, from the resonant Nadaswaram concerts to reflective talks, cultural performances, book releases, and the historic launch of Sri Sathya Sai Salila Dayini, the centenary celebrations carried a warmth that touched every heart and illuminated every smile.
Sri Sathya Narayana Vratham, A Sacred Beginning
The morning of November 22 began with the auspicious Sri Sathya Narayana Vratham. Performed with traditional sankalpam, sacred offerings, and a sanctifying abhishekam by the priests, the ceremony filled the hall with a gentle fragrance of devotion. Chants blended seamlessly with flower offerings, creating an atmosphere of deep spiritual peace.
The Nadaswaram music filled Sadashivam Hall, followed by soulful bhajans and shlokas. The sacred story recitation drew everyone into its rhythm, culminating in a collective prayer for Loka Kalyanam and the offering of Mangala Aarti.
The Eve of the Centenary, Reflections of Gratitude and Music of Devotion
As dusk settled, devotees gathered with a quiet sense of reverence to welcome the eve of a divine milestone, the 100th Birthday of Bhagawan Baba.
The programme opened with a heartfelt reflection from Kumari Saishree, a Gnyana Dayini student, who shared how Bhagawan’s teachings had shaped her values and strengthened her inner resolve.
This was followed by a deeply personal sharing from Sri Keshava Murthy D. C., Head of Administration at Sri Sathya Sai Vaatsalyam. He spoke of moments in his life when Bhagawan’s guidance brought clarity and strength. His words, offered with sincerity, resonated warmly with the gathering.
A vibrant Nadaswaram concert by Vidwan Sri Arun Kumar and team then lit up the evening with devotion. Melodies such as Gajavadana Karuna Sadana and Ksheerabdi Shayana Narayana filled the air with sweetness and serenity. The day concluded with Maha Mangala Aarti, leaving hearts peaceful and uplifted.
Centenary Birthday Morning, A Hundred Years of Pure Love
The morning of November 23 opened with the resonant chanting of the Sri Sai Gadyam, setting a tone of devotion and surrender.
Volunteers, children, and staff from all the Foundation’s service initiatives, Prema Dayini (nutrition), Kshema Dayini (healthcare), Gnyana Dayini (education), Shubha Dayini (women’s empowerment), the Chennai volunteers, Sathya Vachan, Staff, Seva Teams, and Geetha Sudha, offered beautifully crafted cakes to Bhagawan. Each cake symbolised unity, gratitude, and the shared joy of being part of His mission.
Special Events and Reflections
The formal programme began with an address by Sri Krishnan Ramabadran, Trustee of the Sri Sathya Sai Premaarpitham Foundation (SSSPF). He reflected on Bhagawan’s expansive mission across rural India and the Foundation’s commitment to uplifting lives with dignity and compassion. His words set a thoughtful and inspiring tone for the morning.
This was followed by the release of the special Centenary Edition of Divya Praabhavam, the Foundation’s newsletter. Capturing devotion, community stories, and service initiatives guided by Bhagawan’s love, the edition stands as a chronicle of transformation and hope.
Next, Smt. Sadhana Sainath, Administrator (Chennai), SSSPF, offered reflections on the Prema Dayini programme. She spoke of how the initiative nurtures children’s emotional, nutritional, and educational well-being, and how Chennai volunteers embody the true spirit of seva in every step they take.
The celebrations were then marked by the release of Love That Serves, a commemorative book featuring one hundred heartfelt stories from Dayini beneficiaries. Curated by the Sathya Vachan team, the collection shares powerful testimonies of transformation achieved through nutrition, healthcare, education, and skill development.
Sri Giri K. K., Trustee, SSSPF, then shared an insightful message on this significant phase of Bhagawan’s mission. He spoke of how transformation is shaped by a few chosen instruments who serve with purity and surrender, and how their efforts uplift entire communities.
A short video titled Love, Infinite, Beyond Time was then launched. It showcased the Foundation’s work in education, nutrition, health, women’s empowerment, and spirituality, and how these initiatives continue to touch lives with compassion under Bhagawan’s omnipresence.
A Historic Addition, Sri Sathya Sai Salila Dayini
A moment of great joy followed with the announcement of the Foundation’s fifth Dayini initiative called Sri Sathya Sai Salila Dayini. Dedicated to clean water, sanitation, and community health, this initiative marks another milestone in Bhagawan’s mission of love expressed through service.
Cultural Offerings, Dance and Music of Devotion
The students of Nritya Maadhuryam then offered a graceful Bharatanatyam recital on Naama Ramayanam. Through expressive abhinaya, rhythmic footwork, and serene storytelling, they brought the timeless devotion embedded in Rama’s story to life.
A soulful musical presentation by the Geetha Sudha team followed next. Songs such as ‘Tum Aasha Vishwaas Humaare’ and ‘Rama Neela Megha Shyaama’ filled the hall with devotion. The students of Sangeetha Maadhuryam sang ‘Teliyaga Taaramaa’, which led into the uplifting qawwali ‘Sai Bin Raha Na Jaaye’, a heartfelt conclusion to the morning.
The session ended with Maha Mangala Aarti, uniting hundreds of hearts in prayer and gratitude.
Evening Programme, Devotion in Thought and Melody
The evening began with a profound talk by Sri Kumar, a DRDO scientist and long-standing Veda teacher. He shared powerful experiences of divine intervention in his spiritual and professional journey, reminding everyone of Bhagawan’s ever-present grace.
Carnatic Concert by Palghat Dr R Ramprasad & Ensemble
This was followed by a sublime Carnatic concert by Palghat Dr R. Ramprasad and his ensemble. Accompanied by Sri Akshay Anantapadmanabhan on the Mridangam, Sri Thirucherai Karthik on the Violin, and Kumari Lavanya V on the Thambura, the concert featured compositions such as Amba Kaamakshi and Vande Maataram. Each piece was rendered with depth, beauty, and a sincere devotional spirit.
