A Journey Through Science and Spirituality: Field Trip to Bengaluru

The children of Sri Sathya Sai Gnyana Dayini from Sri Sathya Sai Vaatsalyam embarked on an enriching field trip to Bengaluru, where they experienced a perfect blend of science and spirituality. Accompanied by teachers and volunteers, they visited the Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium and the ISKCON Vaikuntha Hill Temple—a day filled with wonder, learning, and divine experiences.

The children set off early in the morning from Sri Sathya Sai Vaatsalyam in the Foundation’s bus, eagerly anticipating their visit to the Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium. Upon arrival, they attended a fascinating Kannada show on astronomy that transported them into the vast and mysterious world of space. As they learned about planets, constellations, and galaxies, their curiosity soared, leading them to ponder the vastness of the universe and humanity’s tiny yet significant place within it.

After the show, the children explored the Science Park, engaging with interactive exhibits that demonstrated key physics concepts in a fun and practical way. From understanding Newton’s Laws to observing optical illusions, they were fascinated by how science came to life before their eyes.

Following a hearty lunch, the children proceeded to their next destination—the ISKCON Vaikuntha Hill Temple. Stepping into the serene temple filled with divine energy, they were blessed with the darshan of Sri Radha Krishna, Sri Balaji, Sri Hanuman, Sri Narasimha, and Devi Padmavati. Their eyes sparkled with awe as they took in the beauty and grace of the deities.

The temple priests shared inspiring stories about Lord Balaji’s divine leelas, imparting valuable lessons about devotion and righteousness. The children then participated in bhajans, clapping and singing with heartfelt devotion. The experience of collective singing, enriched by the temple’s sacred vibrations, filled them with immense joy and gratitude.

After the bhajans, everyone spent time in silent meditation, absorbing the peace and sanctity of the space. The visit left a lasting impression on their young hearts, reinforcing the values of faith, humility, and devotion.

As the field trip concluded, the children returned home with hearts full of joy and minds enriched with knowledge. This experience beautifully embodied Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s principle of ‘Education for Life’, which extends beyond textbooks to instill values, wisdom, and spiritual understanding.

The day transcended mere sightseeing—it was a journey of expanding horizons, nurturing curiosity, and fostering inner growth. While the planetarium opened their minds to the wonders of the cosmos, the ISKCON temple deepened their connection with spirituality and devotion.

A truly memorable day, leaving behind lessons and experiences that will stay with them for a lifetime.
