The entire campus of Sri Sathya Sai Vaatsalyam, Uyyamballi glittered with lights and colours as Deepavali was joyously celebrated on 12th November.
The day began with devotees taking a holy Gangasnanam and proceeding with the morning’s Abhishekam for Sathyaathmatva Mahaganapathy and Somasundareshwara along with Nagarsankeerthan. In the evening, bhajans like “Antar Jyoti Jalao” and “Akhanda Jyothi Jalao“, were offered with devotion, which served as a reminder for all gathered to surrender our minds to God by letting go of ego, just like how a lamp’s wick is bent before it is lit.
A dazzling fire cracker show on the evening of Deepavali
The evening of Deepavali was full of celebration as the entire campus was decorated with strings of lights and candles. Devotees and local villagers assembled for the lighting of fire crackers.
A beautiful show of firecrackers was put up by the young brothers and sisters. At the sound of the whistle they all assembled in formation to present a dazzling display of sparklers, colourful flowerpots, and whistling chakras. Rockets were lit into the dark sky, filling it with dazzling colours and sounds, leaving all devotees, young and old alike, completely mesmerised.
The festivity concluded with everyone reflecting on the significance of Deepavali that Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba has always emphasised – on cleansing our minds and enabling the radiance of divinity to illuminate within us to become a beacon of love that can guide others on their path of divinity.
