The evening gracefully wove together service, empowerment, and cultural expression. Shubha Dayini Day was observed with a heartfelt tribute to rural women — featuring a walk-in exhibition of their creative work and a certificate distribution ceremony marking their successful completion of the Foundation Programme in Skill Training.
The celebration culminated in a joyful cultural performance by children, who offered music, dance, and mridangam in a colourful display of devotion — reflecting the values that Mother Easwaramma inspired through her life and legacy.
Shubha Dayini Day: Celebrating Rural Women’s Transformation
The evening commenced with the celebration of Shubha Dayini Day, shining a spotlight on the inspiring journey of women from 14 nearby villages who have been empowered through skill development workshops. This transformative initiative equips them with practical skills in paper crafts, artificial jewellery making, embroidery, and candle making — serving as a vital pathway to economic independence and renewed self-confidence.
The service has taken many forms, but the heart behind it remains constant: kindness without conditions.
A walk-in exhibition was inaugurated, featuring a vibrant array of handcrafted creations by the Shubha Dayini sisters. Each piece reflected their creativity, precision, and dedication, standing as a proud testament to their progress. Adding to the momentous occasion was the release of a special commemorative book, thoughtfully curated to showcase their artistic journey and celebrate their empowerment through skill and self-reliance.
Voices of Change: Heartfelt Testimonials
The evening programme was filled with moving speeches that illuminated the impact of the Shubha Dayini initiative. Sister Kalpana Heblekar, Acharya, Sri Sathya Sai Shubha Dayini, shared reflections on the growth and miracles witnessed throughout their collective journey. Her words painted a picture of determination and divine grace working hand in hand.
One of the most moving moments of the evening came when the beneficiaries themselves took the stage. Sisters Ashwini, Nethra, and Kavya shared heartfelt testimonies, expressing profound gratitude for how being part of Shubha Dayini had transformed their lives — instilling a renewed sense of purpose, confidence, and empowerment.
Following them, Sister Aruna, a volunteer with Sri Sathya Sai Shubha Dayini, spoke with warmth and conviction about the programme’s growing impact. She highlighted how the initiative has reached numerous villages, creating lasting and meaningful change in the lives of rural women across the region.
Celebrating Achievement: Graduation and Awards
A monumental milestone was achieved as the first batch of Shubha Dayini trainees proudly graduated from the Foundational Skill Training Programme. The ceremony celebrated the achievements of over 60 women, each receiving their well-earned completion certificates. The results were a testament to their dedication and hard work — with more than 90% of the participants securing A grades, and over 33% achieving perfect scores.
The celebration continued with the announcement of the competition winners in Rangoli and Hand Embroidery, recognizing the impressive artistic talents of the participants.
The main highlight of the evening was the presentation of the prestigious All-Rounder Award to sister Radha, whose journey perfectly embodied the holistic growth nurtured by the programme. Beyond her flawless academic performance with a 100% score, she excelled in attendance, peer support, and disciplined conduct, setting a shining example for all.
Nurturing Young Dreams: The Easwaramma Scholarship
In honour of Mother Easwaramma’s selfless prayer for the education of children, the ‘Smt. Easwaramma Scholarship for Education’ was awarded to Tasleem, a former student of Gnyana Dayini, who achieved an exceptional 98.8% in her SSLC examinations. Tasleem’s remarkable success story served as a beacon of inspiration for current students, proving that hard work and dedication can lead to great achievements.
In her heartfelt acceptance speech, Tasleem radiated humility and encouragement, urging her peers to approach their studies with joy, confidence, and a deep belief in their potential.
Children’s Cultural Offerings: Dance, Music, and Devotion
The second half of the celebrations highlighted the remarkable talents of children from various Gnyana Dayini programmes, bringing to life Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s vision of holistic education. Students of Nritya Maadhuryam presented a graceful dance performance to ‘Mandara Dharare,’ beautifully narrating the story of Samudra Mathana and the Kurma Avatara.
A special moment was also reserved for the Nritya Maadhuryam students, who received certificates for completing their second milestone. This achievement was celebrated with heartfelt congratulations and the presentation of report cards, marking the culmination of their hard work and dedication.
In a heartwarming first, the students of Sangeeta Maadhuryam gave their debut Mridangam performance. Their rhythmic chants and synchronized beats reflected not only their growing musical talents but also their commitment to preserving and learning traditional art forms.
The celebrations continued with a soulful rendition of the devotional song ‘Shyamale Meenakshi,’ performed by the Sangeeta Maadhuryam students, who sang with immense joy and devotion, filling the atmosphere with divine energy.
The cultural program culminated in bhajans led by the children, creating an atmosphere of collective devotion that touched every heart present. As voices young and old joined in harmony, the essence of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s teachings on unity and love became palpable in the gathering.
