An Evening Celebrating 98 years of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s Divine Love
The evening festivities began with speeches by sister Shylaja Prasad and brother Gajanan Sabhahit.
Sister Shylaja spoke about how we must recognise the divinity in everyone and see everyone as equal, just as how Bhagawan has always called everyone as ‘embodiments of divinity’. She spoke about how the newly launched service streams enable us to practise Bhagawan’s message of selfless service with utmost ease.
Brother Gajanan spoke about how the birth of our inner divinity is the true birthday of Bhagawan. He talked about how in Kali Yuga, the good and bad reside in us and the only way to remove evil is to do “Samsmarana” — contemplation on the divine.
This was followed by a mellifluous music offering by the Geetha Sudha ensemble. A string of six songs on Sathya Sai Baba was beautifully rendered, bringing the audience together in collective adoration of Bhagawan’s love.
The offering started with “Vandana Prabhu Vandana” welcoming and paying respects to Bhagawan. This was followed by “Kaise Jiyun Main Yun Tere Bin”, a soulful rendition that beautifully captured the bond of every devotee with Bhagawan, of never being able to imagine a life without Him. The next song “Namo Sathya Sai Baba” extolled the magnificence of Sathya Sai Baba, as the one who pervades the entire universe. The fourth song was a lullaby, “Uyyala Luguma Sri Sathya Sai”, which was sung with utmost love for Bhagawan. This was followed by songs, “Janula Madhya Tirugade Jagapathi” and “Sai Bin Raha Na Jaye”, that brought joy to everyone, as they clapped and sang along.
The birthday festivities ended with a display of fireworks that lit up the sky in dazzling colours.
