“Life is a game, play it”
~Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba
The celebration of Krishna Janmashtami at the Sri Sathya Sai Vaatsalyam, Uyyambali was brought to a fun closure with an evening of games, aptly named ‘Krishna Leela’.
Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba has always valued games and sports and has explained how they improve decision making, discrimination and focus by overcoming inertia and laziness. In keeping with His message and inspired by Sri Krishna’s mischievous antics, devotees of all ages enthusiastically participated in games and celebrated the evening with joy in the Sadashivam hall.
The evening commenced with a game of musical chairs, with children from the village participating eagerly. Bhajans filled the air as the children circled the chairs, attempting to secure a seat as the music abruptly ceased.
Following that, a lively treasure hunt ensued, involving five teams of both adults and children, who gave their best efforts to discover hidden treasures scattered throughout Sri Sathya Sai Vaatsalyam.
The highlight of the evening was the Krishna bhajan dumb charades. Volunteers acted out the bhajans, engaging the entire audience in a guessing game, ensuring that no bhajan remained unguessed.
The last game, ‘Just a Minute’, involved participants racing against the clock to jot down Krishna’s various names, the names of Krishna’s devotees, the names of demons defeated by Krishna, and the Dashavataras of Lord Vishnu in their correct order. This activity stimulated everyone’s thinking skills as teams engaged in a friendly competition.
As night fell, the Krishna Leela festivities drew to a close. The evening of delight and laughter fostered unity and a sense of oneness, leaving everyone’s hearts brimming with joy.
