With the divine blessings of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, the Sri Sathya Sai Prema Dayini and Kshema Dayini initiatives commenced in Chunchi Colony village on 25th February and 3rd March. On both the days, the volunteers of Sri Sathya Sai Premaarpitham Foundation reached the villages in the early hours of the morning, served breakfast to the villagers and partook in the prasadam together. Bhajans were sung post breakfast, and the medical camp was initiated. Numerous villagers came forward for the thorough general medical check up and expressed their gratitude to the doctors. The day’s programme concluded with a MangalaArathi and a sense of shared contentment and happiness within the entire community.
About the Cunchi Colony village
The quaint Chunchi Colony village, situated 16 km from the Sri Sathya Sai Vaatsalyam, is adjacent to the famous Chunchi Falls tourist attraction. However, there is a stark contrast between the affluence of leisure visitors and the impoverished conditions of the village residents. This small village, home to 300 people, subsists on daily wage labour, animal husbandry, and farming. With limited access to larger towns, the villagers lack timely access and affordability for even basic medical care and suffer from poor nutritional health. Furthermore, the village has a sizable elderly population, which amplifies the pressing need for accessible healthcare services.
Serving Nutrition through Prema Dayini at Chunchi Colony
Through the village service initiative by the Sri Sathya Sai Premaarpitham Foundation, nutritious and wholesome breakfast prasadam was served to all villagers in Chunchi. Hundreds of villagers joyfully partook in the nourishing breakfast, and in a spirit of unity, both volunteers and villagers shared the meal together, experiencing a sense of communal bliss.
Preventive and Holistic Medical Care through Kshema Dayini at Chunchi Colony
The day continued with a medical camp facilitated by the Sri Sathya Sai Kshema Dayini initiative. Established on the premises of the local government school, the camp welcomed all villagers with open arms. An efficient registration process was implemented, where each attendee’s vitals, including height, weight, and blood pressure, were meticulously recorded. With great care and organisation, the villagers were then systematically queued and summoned in turn for comprehensive general medical consultations.
Doctors from the Sri Sathya Sai Vaidyalayam conducted comprehensive examinations on each patient, meticulously assessing for any illnesses or ailments. Following the consultations, those requiring medication were provided with the necessary prescriptions free of cost, accompanied by clear and detailed instructions on dosage and timing. The villagers were overwhelmed with gratitude and happiness, having long grappled with health concerns that had gone unaddressed due to lack of accessible care. For those requiring further laboratory tests, skilled technicians promptly collected blood samples. These samples will undergo thorough analysis at the Sri Sathya Sai Vaidyalayam’s laboratory facilities, and the results will be discussed during a follow-up consultation in the subsequent week, ensuring continuity of care.
The medical camp ended on a satisfactory note, having provided vital healthcare services to over 75 villagers who took advantage of these much-needed facilities. During the day, the volunteers also raised awareness among many more villagers about the Sri Sathya Sai Vaidyalayam and the free Sri Sathya Sai Kshema Dayini ambulance service, encouraging them to utilise these charitable services whenever required.
The day culminated with the Mangala Aarti and a sincere prayer to Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, permeating an atmosphere of profound gratitude for bringing hope, health, and faith to yet another village.
