Sri Sathya Sai Shubha Dayini

Competencies Beyond Conventions, Capabilities Beyond Circumstances

The Sri Sathya Sai Shubha Dayini initiative is dedicated to empowering and upskilling women in rural communities.

Under this initiative, rural women are trained and upskilled to produce various items, which are then marketed and sold through our partners. The women not only learn new skills but also create an additional source of income.

Shubha Dayini fosters economic independence and enables these resilient women to assume their rightful role and influence within their families and society as a whole.

Testimonials

“At first, it was challenging to get the women involved. But over time, women from various villages began to participate with enthusiasm. They are now training diligently and making significant progress. Their skills are improving, and their social etiquette and mannerisms have also developed considerably. Working with them has given me a chance to reflect on life, teaching me the value of simplicity and the joy of cherishing small moments.”

Uma S Bhat Volunteer Trainer, Sri Sathya Sai Shubha Dayini

“I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to engage with, teach, and uplift the lives of rural women through the Sri Sathya Sai Shubha Dayini initiative. Working with women from rural villages and teaching them valuable skills has been a dream come true for me. During our visits to several villages in Kanakapura, we learned that many women primarily rear goats for a living, facing harsh working conditions while being highly susceptible to financial losses. Teaching these women skills to create useful products and providing motivation to start small businesses has been incredibly rewarding. Through this wonderful opportunity, I’ve learned patience, experienced the power of prayers, and discovered the joy of selfless service.”

Kalpana Heblekar Volunteer Trainer, Sri Sathya Sai Shubha Dayini

“The Shubha Dayini programme has been a source of inspiration and strength, affirming my ability to stand independently and provide for my family. Despite my initial apprehension, the volunteers encouraged my participation, and even took me to exhibitions in Bangalore. It’s been a joyful journey, and I’m eager to learn more.”

"I am deeply grateful to the Foundation for thinking about our futures and giving us this opportunity through the Shubha Dayini programme. In the past, my days were consumed by mundane household chores and idle conversations with neighbors. Now, I am actively investing my time in learning valuable skills I never imagined I could master – from crafting intricate earrings and delicate chains to designing bags and developing precise tailoring techniques. Our trainer has also taught us how to make better use of our time and find ways to support our families financially. We are also learning about marketing and how to turn these skills into opportunities. This 90-day programme has given me hope for the future. I have completed 20 days so far and am determined to see it through to the end. My heartfelt gratitude goes to Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba and the instructors for their encouragement and guidance."

"All the women receive training in handmade products, such as jewellery, lamps, and tailoring, through the Sri Sathya Sai Shubha Dayini programme. We had all resigned ourselves to the lives confined to household responsibilities, but this training has shown us that we are capable of so much more. We also learn shlokas at Sri Sathya Sai Vaatsalyam, which bring us peace and a sense of fulfillment. We have even started teaching these shlokas to our family members. Working and learning together has taught us the importance of cooperation and adjustments, creating a more positive and healthy environment in our lives. We are deeply grateful to the Foundation and Bhagawan for this opportunity and guidance."
