The celebration of Easwaramma Day at Sri Sathya Sai Vaatsalyam unfolded as a quiet reminder that a mother’s selfless love does not remain confined to her home. Rooted in purity and compassion, it expresses itself through dignity, strength, and hope, uplifting individuals and communities alike.
Mother Easwaramma’s deep love for women and children found a beautiful expression through the observance of Shubha Dayini Day, which stood at the heart of the evening. The programme celebrated the growing confidence and self-reliance of rural women through skill development, while children expressed their learning and inner growth through music, dance, and cultural presentations.
The evening featured the inauguration of a Computer Lab under Vidya Maadhuryam, a Nritya Maadhuryam poster exhibition, and cultural offerings of music, dance, and mridangam by the students of Sri Sathya Sai Gnyana Dayini.
The programme also marked the release of the Shubha Dayini booklet, showcasing the journey and creations of the second batch of women trainees from 15 nearby villages. Their graduation reflected journeys of perseverance, learning, and empowerment. The Outstanding Student Award presented under Shubha Dayini recognised the trainee woman who had displayed exceptional dedication and commitment throughout her training. Alongside this, students of Nritya Maadhuryam received their Nritya Sadhana 3 certificates.
Together, each offering reflected how Mother Easwaramma’s legacy of love continues to take shape through education, empowerment, culture, and service.
Inauguration of the Computer Lab: Opening Doors to Possibility
The evening commenced with the inauguration of a newly established Computer Lab under the Vidya Maadhuryam initiative of Sri Sathya Sai Gnyana Dayini. Equipped with brand new desktops, the lab marks an important step in providing rural children access to digital education and essential life skills.
This initiative echoes Mother Easwaramma’s original vision—education as a means of uplift—and continues her legacy by creating opportunities for children to learn, explore, and grow with confidence and the right education in a rapidly changing world.
Nritya Maadhuryam Poster Display: Learning Beyond the Classroom
Following the inauguration, a display stall curated by the students of Nritya Maadhuryam was inaugurated. Students transformed their learning over the past year into thoughtfully crafted posters, presenting dance concepts through visual storytelling.
Each poster reflected hours of effort, guidance, and reflection—revealing not just technique, but understanding and discipline. Visitors were invited to engage with the displays and encourage the children in their journey.
Cultural Offerings by the Children of Gnyana Dayini
The cultural segment of the evening was a heartfelt offering by the students nurtured under the Sri Sathya Sai Gnyana Dayini initiative.
Pushpanjali and Vara Veena – Nritya Maadhuryam
The dance offerings began with Pushpanjali, performed by the students who recently completed the Nritya Sadhana 3 exam, followed later by Vara Veena, presented by all the students of Nritya Maadhuryam. Through graceful movements, expressions, and disciplined technique, the children offered their gratitude to Mother Easwaramma and Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba.
Ganesha Sthuti and Bhajans – Sangeeta Maadhuryam
The atmosphere deepened with a Ganesha Sthuti (Shakti Sahita Ganapathim) and bhajans sung by the students of Sangeeta Maadhuryam. Their collective devotion filled the space with purity and spiritual strength.
Mridangam Presentation – Sangeeta Maadhuryam
The students of Sangeeta Maadhuryam also presented a Mridangam recital, performing their beginner lessons to the bhajan Shivaya Parameshwaraya as a loving offering to Mother Easwaramma and Bhagawan.
Nritya Sadhana 3 Certificate Distribution
A significant milestone of the evening was the distribution of Nritya Sadhana 3 certificates and report cards to students who have completed three years of training under Nritya Maadhuryam and appeared for the examination recently.
The achievement reflected far more than technical progress in dance. It represented years of discipline, dedication, and steady inner growth. Through their training and examinations, the students demonstrated increasing confidence, grace, and understanding—marking a journey from learning movements to expressing meaning through art.
Shubha Dayini Booklet Launch: A Journey Documented
The evening was also celebrated as Shubha Dayini Day, honouring the women participating in the Sri Sathya Sai Shubha Dayini initiative. A curated Shubha Dayini booklet was formally offered, capturing the learning journey of the second batch of trainees.
The booklet showcased training in tailoring, crochet, hand embroidery, and cow dung–based products, along with glimpses from exhibitions attended and participated in. More than a record of activities, it reflected growing confidence, creativity, exposure, and the steady journey towards self-reliance.
Voices of Empowerment: Shubha Dayini Speeches
Adding a deeply personal dimension to the evening, two graduates from the Sri Sathya Sai Shubha Dayini initiative shared their journeys of growth and empowerment.
Sister Nagamani Kempegowda from the first batch, who completed the Advanced Programme in Skill Development, and sister Nandini K from Dodalahalli, a participant of the second batch who completed both the Basic and Advanced courses, spoke about their experiences with sincerity and gratitude.
Their stories reflected resilience, self-belief, and the quiet confidence that emerges when women are given the opportunity, encouragement, and guidance to grow.
The audience also heard from sister Kalpana Heblekar, Trainer for the Sri Sathya Sai Shubha Dayini initiative, who shared her experiences of working closely with the women and witnessing their transformation in skill, confidence, and independence over the course of the programme.
Shubha Dayini Certificate Distribution: Celebrating Collective Achievement
The evening also marked the successful completion of the Foundational and Advanced Skill Training Programme by the second batch of women in Shubha Dayini.
Women from three neighbouring villages graduated from the first advanced batch and the second batch of the Sri Sathya Sai Shubha Dayini initiative, receiving certificates in recognition of their dedication and progress.
Outstanding Student Award – Shubha Dayini
The evening concluded with the announcement of the Outstanding Student (All-Rounder) Award for the graduating Shubha Dayini batch.
The award was presented to sister Anitha M, who secured a perfect score of 100% and consistently demonstrated sincerity, discipline, and leadership throughout the programme. Her willingness to support and encourage fellow trainees reflected the spirit of collective growth and compassion that lies at the heart of Shubha Dayini.
Conclusion: Love That Continues to Flow
As the evening drew to a close with Mangala Aarti to Bhagawan, a quiet pattern became clear. Every moment of learning, devotion, and empowerment reflected the same source: a love that expresses itself through action.
Easwaramma Day at Sri Sathya Sai Vaatsalyam stood as a reminder that Mother Easwaramma’s spirit continues to move forward through every child who learns, every woman who rises, and every life that finds a new direction.
