The celebration of Ugadi, marking the new year ‘Vishwa Vasu’, at Sri Sathya Sai Vaatsalyam was a beautiful blend of devotion, culture, and tradition. The morning was graced by the sacred unveiling of the utsava murthy of Sri Sathyaatmatva Mahaganapathy, accompanied by rituals to invoke divine blessings. The evening featured an insightful speech by sister Krishna Nedungadi, followed by a soulful musical offering by the Geetha Sudha team.
A Sacred Start to Ugadi
The morning began with the auspicious unveiling of the utsava moorthy of Sri Sathyaatmatva Mahaganapathy. This was followed by sacred offerings, including Guru Ganapathi Pooja, Punyahavachana, Bimba Shuddhi, Kalasha Sthaapana, Ganapathi Homa, and Maha Abhishekam. After a collective session of bhajans, the beautifully adorned Sri Ganesha was revealed as the temple curtains opened.
The morning festivities concluded with a Maha Mangala Aarti for Sri Ganesha, followed by Aarti for Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. Villagers and devotees came together in devotion, offering prayers for the welfare and prosperity of all.
An Evening of Reflection and Music
The evening session began with an inspiring talk by sister Krishna Nedungadi, who spoke on “Life – A Gift to Yourself and Everyone Around You.” She encouraged everyone to cherish life as a precious blessing and to spread love and kindness wherever possible.
The celebrations continued with a soul-stirring musical offering by the Geetha Sudha ensemble. The team presented devotional compositions such as ‘Chitravati Teera Chidruupa Baba’, ‘Ondu Baare Smarane Saalade’, ‘Bhakta Jana Vatsale’, and ‘Gunghuru Baand’, written by great devotees of God. The final song, ‘Poojinthumu Mama Sai Nee’, created a deeply moving moment, as devotees held lamps in their hands and offered a heartfelt aarti, symbolising unity and devotion.
A Message for the New Year
The celebrations reminded everyone of the power of love—both towards each other and towards the divine. It was a day to reflect on how love, like a flame, spreads effortlessly when shared with sincerity.
